Gone, gone, baby...

I'm blocking all politicians and a few people who help push them. Because I used to give to AOC and Talarico and Ossoff, I got put on lists of other Democrats running for office, 99% of whom I've never heard of, asking me for $5. $3. $1. All that shit. If I don't give, we'll lose the Senate! Or the House!

I don't fucking care. I'm done with the whole lot of them. Even if they do retake Congress, they won't do a fucking thing except what their corporate masters want. I'm returning my sole focus to me and my characters' needs.

For example, Simon is now staying in Barrington over the weekend because he will need to meet with the Assistant District Attorney, on Monday. Before that, he'll need to get a lawyer to represent him. So driving all the way home and back would not just be more expensive than keeping the hotel room but take too much time.

I actually got a fair bit done on MQM today. Up to 10,200 words and 6 chapters. It's pulling together, and I may make my deadline early. Maybe. We'll see.

I'm also going to work up some of Simon's artwork, though on heavy paper, not canvas. I'm leaning towards making this a partially illustrated book. Have some sections where his poems are counterpointed by paintings and sketches, once it comes out. Like novels used to be in the late 19th Century.

I want it to be something special. Not just the story of a quiet man caught in a hideous situation but a near celebration of his life. Build him up as much as I can, while being as honest as possible about him.

No telling how that will go. It's been years since I really did anything truly artistic.
